GRASSROOTS ARTS PROGRAM 2005-2006

ARTS PROJECT GRANTS

Greene - Morgan - Oconee - Oglethorpe - Putnam - Walton

The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center is overseeing granting of special state funds in Morgan County through the Grassroots Arts Program. A partnership between the Georgia Council for the Arts and artist, arts agencies, arts events and arts promoters in Morgan County, the Grassroots Program is designed to provide an opportunity for every county in Georgia to be served with state dollars. This project is directed through The Center with the assistance of an advisory committee. There are many ways to receive GAP funds. 

Who is eligible?

Non-profit groups who wish to sponsor art projects are eligible for funding. Those eligible include 501(c)(3) organizations or groups which can identify a tax-exempt fiscal agent as sponsor - applicant, such as city governments, schools and libraries. Timetable

August 16, 2005

Postmark Deadline for GAP Applications
Packets mailed to Committee - meeting notice and evaluations enclosed.
August 2005 GAP Allocation Panel meeting
August 2005 Notification of allocations
Aug. 2005 - June 2006

Funded projects take place

30 days after completion All final reports due from sub-grantees
August 2006 GAP Final Report mailed to Georgia Council for the Arts

All projects must have at least a 50 percent cash match.

»    Other guidelines do apply.

Applications may either be mailed   or dropped off at the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2005. No faxed or e-mailed applications will be accepted.
