Ticket packages this year are broken into three categories: Mainstage Series, Down the Hall Series and best value combined package. The Mainstage Series will feature Ailey II Dancers, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra holiday concert and Vienna Choir Boys all in the Center’s beautiful theatre. The Down the Hall Series will feature two fun shows, The Dempseys, an energetic and rollicking rockabilly band and The Clayton Miller Band, a blues/rock band showcasing a 13 year-old harmonica prodigy. Mainstage Series season tickets are $120 for members and $135 for non-members. The Down the Hall Series season tickets are $30 for members and $40 for non-members. The best value package combines both the Mainstage and Down the Hall series for $135 for members and $160 for non-members. You do not have to be a member to purchase season tickets, however, members will receive a discount and have first shot at purchasing their tickets through October 3. Memberships, starting at $20 for students and $35 for individuals, may be purchased in conjunction with season tickets. Members individual tickets will go on sale October 4 and non-member season and individual tickets will go on sale October 18, subject to availability. Mainstage Series season tickets will include the following three performances: 1. Tuesday, November 14 – Ailey II Dancers – The Ailey II Dance Company merges the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding emerging choreographers. 2. Thursday, December 14 - The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra with conductor Jere Flint is back for their 30th Holiday concert at the Center. 3. Tuesday, February 13 – The Vienna Choir Boys began when Emperor Maximilian I decreed in 1498 that there were to be six boys among his court musicians. He unwittingly laid the foundation for the Weiner Sangerknaben or Vienna Choir Boys. Today they carry on the rich traditions of Vienna’s musical life as a living heritage that traces its roots to such figures as Mozart, Hayden, and Schubert. Down the Hall Series season tickets will include the following two performances: 1. Friday, January 19 – The Dempseys – A unique musical trio known for their brand of high octane rockabilly music and the much talked about live show. The band’s energetic live performances are unlike any show in the current popular music scene and have been referred to by the Rockabilly Hall of Fame as the “the most entertaining rockabilly show on the planet.” The group emphasizes “entertainment” including bass fiddle stunts, and instrument swapping, a flaming trumpet and a good-humored repertoire. 2. Saturday, April 21 – Clayton Miller Band – Playing music as a family is very unique in a sense, but having this level of talent all in one family quickly has garnered them worldwide attention. They have been the #1 band touring colleges nationwide and were the feature story of Campus Activities Magazine branding them the HOTTEST NEW ACT OF THE COLLEGE CIRCUIT. All Mainstage Series shows will begin at 7:30 pm. Down the Hall Series shows will begin at 8 pm. Schedule of Ticket Availability:

CONTACT: Return to top of the press release Arts projects grants are now available in Morgan, Oconee, Oglethorpe and Walton counties for 2006-07. The Madison-Morgan Cultural Center announced the availability of this funding assistance through the Georgia Council for the Art's Grassroots Arts Program (GAP). GAP is designed to encourage local collaborations between artists, arts organization and non-arts organizations (civic, human service, religious, business, etc.) by providing funding for arts activities. This program will serve a broad range of residents, especially populations that have been underserved. To be eligible, an applicant must be a legally incorporated non-profit organization or a unit of government, such as a school or public library. Groups that do not meet this requirement are encouraged to partner with eligible organizations to apply for funding. Applicants do not have to be arts organizations; libraries, senior centers, civic groups and churches are all encouraged to apply. Applications are being accepted now through August 8, 2006. “We are thrilled to help the Georgia Council for the Arts administer this important program,” said Tina Lilly, Executive Director of MMCC. “Through this program, arts programs can thrive even in small, rural counties.” In the past, this program has funded children’s art classes with the Madison Artists Guild, pottery classes for people with mental disabilities at the Walton County Arts Guild, a lecture series and museum visits for residents of the Oglethorpe County Senior Center, and a performance series at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation. Funding varies for each county depending on size, but no grant will be awarded above $2,000. Funded activities must be accessible and available to the general public, or designed as outreach to specific underserved populations. Funds will support arts activities only. For applications, complete guidelines or additional information, please call Elsie Monk at 706-342-4743 or e-mail at emonk@madmorg.org, or visit the MMCC website at www.madisonmorgancultural.org. Applications are also available at the Center, which is located at 434 South Main Street in Madison. MMCC
